Franklin bank branches in the works
Posted on March 17, 2009 at 3:21 pmFirst Farmers & Merchants Bank is getting ready to open the doors of its new Franklin branch. The 5,600-square-foot office off Cool Springs Boulevard east of I-65 will open March 27 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The Columbia-based bank made its first foray into Williamson County in late 2007, when it set up temporary shop on Carothers Parkway. The branch will be the bank’s 19th Middle Tennessee location.
Nearby, Franklin Synergy Bank is moving forward with the planning process for a new downtown Franklin headquarters, where it plans to lease all the space in a two-story, 15,000-square-foot office on Columbia Avenue near the city’s new police HQ.
Franklin Synergy Senior VP Aimee Punessen said the bank’s executive team and operations staff will move there from Aspen Grove at the end of this year at the earliest. For 2010, Punessen said the bank is looking to open a Brentwood office. Franklin Synergy opened its doors in late 2007 and has quickly grown to about $200 million in assets.
