Insurance ratings group throws up its hands

Best, one of the most established insurance ratings agencies, has withdrawn a host of company ratings based only on publicly available data. Among the companies who are now ‘not formally followed’ are affiliates of HealthSpring as well as BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and Ardent Health Services’ Lovelace Health Plan.

First Acceptance ratings affirmed

Best hasn’t changed its opinion on the Nashville-based company (Ticker: FAC), but does note its leaders are doing some good things that have “positively impacted underwriting leverage and overall risk-adjusted capitalization.” Translation: They’re not sticking their neck way out there anymore.
