Warner Nashville to sponsor NASCAR team

The newly formed Warner Music Nashville group of labels has hooked up with BAM Racing to run the 2010 Sprint Cup schedule. Warner Nashville boss John Esposito said the deal with BAM — which took off a year to catch its breath — is a “unique opportunity to extend our artists’ brands.”

The two sports organizations are focused on cross-selling their sponsors. How long before we see Kleenex on the ice or VUMC on the No. 27?

Preds in marketing deal with NASCAR racers

Nashville’s hockey team is teaming up with its NASCAR Nationwide Series team to help it sell tickets and give its sponsors some love outside Music City. The two organizations will officially announce the deal on Tuesday.

Locally owned and operated by Mike Curb – of Curb records fame – and Nashville businessman Gary Baker, Baker Curb Racing has positioned itself to be a consistent championship contender on the NASCAR Nationwide series. With an unmatched reputation of delivering results both on and off the track, Baker Curb racing has the distinction of representing some of America’s most trusted brands on a national level. In entering a joint promotional and sales agreement with the Nashville Predators, Baker Curb Racing can now help bring regional exposure to its sponsors. In turn, partnering with Baker Curb Racing gives the Predators a national outlet to help promote local sponsors.

Jack steps back from NASCAR

Brown-Forman, the parent company of Jack Daniel’s, will stop sponsoring the Richard Childress Racing No. 7 at the end of this season, saying the economy has pushed it to conclude that “other areas in the marketing mix require additional investment.”

Firestone to sponsor Miami race

The Nashville-based company, which is the official tire supplier to the IndyCar Series, will sponsor the series’ season-ending race at Miami-Homestead Speedway. The company had its name on its hometown race from 2002 to last year.

Says David Black of Nashville-based Aegis Sciences to suspended driver Jeremy Mayfield: Bring it.

“[Mayfield] can say whatever he wishes to say,” Black said. “I think we’re on very, very good ground. I’m very confident in the interpretation of the test and the action we took.”

TNA Entertainment, which runs its operations out of Cummins Station, will slap its name on the vehicle driven by TV analyst and part-time wrestler Hermie Sadler in the Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville this weekend.
