Saint Thomas adds Cool Springs rehab clinic

Saint Thomas Health Services has opened an outpatient rehabilitation clinic at Bakers Bridge Avenue and Carothers Parkway in Cool Springs. For STHS’ Life Therapies and Baptist Sports Medicine brands, the site is the sixth and 14th outpost, respectively.

Centennial docs launching Franklin practice

Dr. Gabriela Morel and Gordon Davis will later this fall open the doors to Southern Pediatrics in Cool Springs. The two MDs now ply their trade at Centennial Pediatrics’ Brentwood and Smyrna offices.

Automotive retail entrepreneur R.C. Alexander was the big winner at the bankruptcy auction of The Auto Collection dealerships on Bakers Bridge Avenue. The dealers’ Ohio owner had placed them in voluntary receivership early this year during a fight with KeyBank.

Luxury bag retailer Coach is the biggest name of the trio that will open between now and early next year. It’ll be the company’s second local store, joining the one in Green Hills. Also on board are Soma Intimates and teen-oriented Pacific Sunwear.

Franklin bank branches in the works

First Farmers & Merchants Bank is getting ready to open the doors of its new Franklin branch. The 5,600-square-foot office off Cool Springs Boulevard east of I-65 will open March 27 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Columbia-based bank made its first foray into Williamson County in late 2007, when it set up temporary shop on Carothers Parkway. The branch will be the bank’s 19th Middle Tennessee location.

Nearby, Franklin Synergy Bank is moving forward with the planning process for a new downtown Franklin headquarters, where it plans to lease all the space in a two-story, 15,000-square-foot office on Columbia Avenue near the city’s new police HQ.

Franklin Synergy Senior VP Aimee Punessen said the bank’s executive team and operations staff will move there from Aspen Grove at the end of this year at the earliest. For 2010, Punessen said the bank is looking to open a Brentwood office. Franklin Synergy opened its doors in late 2007 and has quickly grown to about $200 million in assets.
