Former local E&Y partner named to GreenBank board

Bill Mooningham, who retired as partner in the Nashville office of Ernst & Young two years ago, has been elected to the board of Green Bankshares, the parent of Middle Tennessee’s 10th-largest bank by deposits.

Ernst & Young has named Sherry Stewart Deutschmann one of its 2009 Entrepreneurial Winning Women. LetterLogic, Stewart’s seven-year-old mailing services company, rang up $12 million in sales last year, but she thinks that can rise to $100 million by 2018.

Local E&Y addition to biotech group

Jeff Smith, a partner at Ernst & Young’s Nashville office, has been named to the Tennessee Biotechnology Association’s board of directors. Four folks from the Memphis area also have joined the group.

…It will be because larger companies in established industries are hitting up investors, say the pros at Ernst & Young.

“It’s important to have a long-term perspective,” said Jackie Kelley, Americas IPO Leader, Ernst & Young LLP. “If companies want to position themselves to ride the first wave up as the IPO market turns around, they should start planning now for the organizational change, which can take 12-24 months.”
