Brentwood lab gets nod for H1N1 test

Diatherix Laboratories has been authorized by the Food and Drug Administration to market its H1N1-09 Influenza Test. Diatherix CEO Dennis Grimaud said the testing panel also can identify any co-infections like pneumonia, which have contributed to many H1N1 deaths.

FDA OKs Cumberland’s IV ibuprofen

Federal drug regulators have approved Cumberland Pharmaceuticals’ Caldolor, an intravenous version of ibuprofen that becomes the company’s third portfolio drug. In their quarterly report with the SEC last month, Cumberland officials called Caldolor their “most significant product opportunity” and cited stats that put the U.S. market for injectable pain relievers at more than $300 million per year.

Cumberland Pharmaceuticals says its Acetadote overdose treatment has new labels to reflect a recent study that said the drug is actually safer than was previously reported.
