Central Parking wins Chicago deal

A joint venture between Nashville’s Central Parking and a Chicago company has won a contract to manage almost 4,000 parking spots in the Windy City. The companies expect to start the job — which had been Standard Parking — before the end of the year.

NES awards food supply contract

U-Kno Catering, a company being grown under the umbrella of the Nashville Business Incubation Center, has been awarded a three-year contract to provide food services to 200 Nashville Electric Service employees each day. The deal is worth $250,000 to owner Brenda Odom and her team.
State allocates $150M for private equity

Milt Capps has caught up with Lamar Villere, the director of Tennessee’s new private-equity investment program, who has committed a total of $150 million to three funds, including one of the firms that recently helped take Emdeon public. No Tennessee firms have been picked so far, but that may soon change, according to Villere.
[T]wo or three further appointments will be made this calendar year. Toward that end, he said he is in conversation each business day with potential fund managers. About once a week, those contacts include conversations with Tennessee-based fund managers.

Among the planned new rules is a very public-company requirement for pay disclosure for companies doing a lot of business with the feds.
Additionally, contractors who receive at least 80% of gross revenues from Federal sources must report “names and total compensation of each of the five most highly compensated officers ….” This requirement only applies to contractors who receive $25 million or more in gross revenue from Federal sources.
CCA gets Nevada go-ahead

The Nashville-based company (Ticker: CXW) will house the inmates in Natchez, Miss., where it recently wrapped up a $128 million construction project.
Delek snags another defense deal
Posted on at 7:30 amThe Department of Defense has renewed its contract to buy fuel from the Brentwood-based company (Ticker: DK) and increased its size from $102 million a year ago to more than $160 million. Delek has been supplying the military since 2006.
