FiledBy finds traction in Cambridge

The new Ingram Content Group has lined up its leadership team, pulling execs from across the Ingram publishing network. Under President and CEO Skip Prichard will work a team of managers that includes Chief Content Officer Phil Ollila and Chief Commercial Shawn Everson.

Former Ingram executive Peter Clifton has teamed with publishing strategist Mike Schatzkin on filedbyauthor, a site that aims to become the default destination for promoting authors and their works. The site has pages ‘ready to be claimed and enhanced’ by the authors – here’s the page for Richard Florida, lover of Nashville and author of “Who’s Your City?” – and will make its money by charging for add-on marketing services.
Ingram laying off at La Vergne warehouse

LAVERGNE, Tenn. - Dozens of workers are losing their jobs in Rutherford County. Ingram Book Company is cutting 64 jobs, 34 of those are at its headquarters warehouse in LaVergne.
