LifePoint Louisiana hospitals to merge
Posted on October 26, 2009 at 9:21 amTwo Louisiana hospitals owned by LifePoint (Ticker: LPNT) plan to merge and become a single health system, the Daily World reports. The two hospitals, which have a combined 147 beds, are located 18 miles apart in Eunice and Ville Platte.
Noranda cranks it up

Having acquired full ownership of a Jamaica bauxite mine and a Louisiana alumina refinery, Franklin-based Noranda Aluminum says it will increase production to feed its 44-acre Missouri plant, an aerial view of which is at left.
Franchise milestone for local restaurant firm

Santa Fe Holding, the roadhouse chain run by Nashville entrepreneur Danny York, will next week open its first franchise location. The Hammond, La., eatery will be the first of three scheduled to open in the Pelican State in the next year.

The agency won three gold awards and one award of merit for Ochsner, which has seven hospitals and 35 health centers in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and throughout Southeast Louisiana.

nTelagent signs Carolina contract
