CCA laying off 120 in Minnesota

The Nashville-based prison manager has cutting more than half of the payroll at its Prairie Correctional Facility in Appleton, Minn., after losing a State of Washington contract. Earlier this year, the company (Ticker: CXW) had avoided layoffs by trimming work hours.

With a number of its Prairie Correctional Facility prisoners set to return to state-owned facilities, Corrections Corp. is cutting the work weeks of its 250 employees in western Minnesota. The move avoids 40 layoffs.

LP trimming more mill jobs

Preds exec – not Poile – linked to Minnesota job

Now that Predators GM David Poile has quickly and adamantly denied any interest in succeeding the Minnesota Wild’s fired Doug Risebrough, another local front-office name has surfaced as a candidate. Assistant GM Paul Fenton is on the list of men said to be interested.
